WHAT IS THROTTLE LAG?

When you first press down on the accelerator, there is a delay before anything actually happens. Electronic Throttle Control (ETC) systems cause this as they take the signal from the accelerator pedal when you press it and send it to the vehicle’s ECU. All of this process causes a delay called throttle lag. Besides, manufacturers deliberately leave the delay there because it makes the vehicle suitable for various types of drivers.

HOW DOES PEDAL COMMANDER® IMPROVE YOUR CAR?

Modern vehicles have electronic throttle systems. Contrary to the old cable throttles, where the pedal was physically connected to the throttle valve, new drive-by-wire systems are completely controlled by the vehicle’s ECU. On top of that, the throttle valve’s opening speed and how much it opens are regulated by the manufacturer’s settings. All of this process and electronic control causes a delay in the initial throttle response, called throttle lag.

The Pedal Commander® throttle response controller modifies the signal from the throttle position sensor. The modified signal transmitted to the ECU makes the throttle valve fully open when you floor the gas pedal, and it also changes the speed the valve operates. The basic steps of the Pedal Commander® installation are always the same regardless of the vehicle's make and model:

Turn off the ignition and wait 10-15 minutes with your driver's door open to allow your ECU to shut down.

Disconnect your accelerator pedal assembly plug, then plug in the heads to connectors on the Pedal Commander® harness.

Clean up the area where you want to mount the control unit with the alcohol wipe. Stick the bracket with the supplied velcro.

After you make sure the cables are secure and won't be tangled, you are ready to enjoy Pedal Commander®.

First and foremost I’ve had this pedal commander for about a week and half and is really great, took a hit on MPG because I mainly run it on sport +2 and the only reason I purchased the pedal commander is for the instant throttle response there is ECO mode however it didn’t buy it for that. It doesn’t leave ain’t code behind like pedal commander stated. I would recommend to anyone wanting this for instant throttle response.

A better experience is delivered when you use the City +3 Performance Option, the car feels amazing, powerful enough to speed fast. The sound of the engine gets pretty aggressive and it's cool. Any other advanced options are too much for my car, but who knows in the future could be something I'll be using, Thanks Again Pedal Commander Staff.

This thing really does improve your throttle response pretty dramatically. I run with it in city mode for every day driving and find that it give me more than enough pep... When you put it into sport, it is a real monster. Sport plus is a little much. It tends to chirp the tires when you start off from a stop light, which may be great if you were into that sort of thing. If all you want is to help solve that low end torque deficiency, this certainly fits the bill. Remember, it doesn't make the car any faster, it just reprograms the acceleration curve so that you have more throttle at the beginning of the pedal stroke than you used to.The only con I have is that it can really burn the gas when in sport mode. Although, if you have purchased this item, my guess is that your fuel economy comes second to the joy of driving.

It’s easy to install and it also comes with Velcro and adhesive to secure the wires where you want them. It even comes with a plastic holder for the controller! It works great! Just a heads up, it will take some time to get used to the different settings

I have been trying to get a lil more fun out of my already fun to drive C350 Sport and after a failed Ecu chip tune I was about to pay the big bucks. I then saw this product on The-tube and came straight to the Zon to order it knowing if it failed the would have my back. 15 minutes after it was delivered I was headed down the driveway grinning and laugh while also yelling YES YES YES YES! The multiple settings allow a large range of . . . fun.Would have been 5-Stars but I have only had 2 hours. Lets see in some time if I come back to bump it up.
